An effective way to stop your hydro company from installing a smart meter on your home is to foil them with a custom-made steel smart lock that fits around your old (dumb) hydro meter. With easy screw or bolt installation, the lock forces the hydro company to damage your personal property in order to remove the old meter. They are not permitted to do this. Smart meter locks are manufactured on Hornby Island, in British Columbia. Priced at only $25, these locks can be custom built to suit your needs and easily shipped anywhere in North America (shipping costs extra).
